Obituary of Dorothy Lauretta Cook

Dorothy Lauretta Cook 87, Falkland Ridge, Anna Co., passed away peacefully in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater on Sunday, July 13, 2014 with her husband Lawrence of 62 years by her side. She was a daughter of the late Stanley and Emily (Berringer) Kaulback. She is survived by her loving husband, Lawrence; children, Brian (Gladys), Anne (George), Bruce (Karen); seven grandchildren, Larry (Kim), David (Lisa), Christopher, Matthew, Ryan (Krista), Emily and Sarah; 3 great grandchildren, Dawson, Kierann, Abigail; sister, Jean Lowe; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Gordon, Clarence, Clyde, Ralph, Ray, Burton and Arnold; sisters, Violet and Arlene; 2 infant granddaughters. In her early years, she was a school teacher in numerous communities throughout Nova Scotia. During her married life, she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved gardening and cooking delicious meals for her family. To celebrate her life, visitation will held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 16, 2014 in Springfield Baptist Church, Springfield with service beginning at 2 p.m. Rev. Lloyd Gillieo officiating. Reception to follow in the church hall. A private family interment will take place in Falkland Ridge Cemetery, Falkland Ridge. Family flowers only, donations may be made to Springfield Baptist Church. The family would like to thank the many nurses and doctors of the Victoria General Hospital, Halifax, South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater who took such great care of Dorothy during her illness.
