Obituary of Stanley Lewis Haines
Stanley Lewis Haines
75 of Berwick, formerly of Farmington, Lunenburg Co. passed away on Saturday October 25, 2014 at the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Farmington, he was the son of the late Russell and Muriel (Tupper) Haines. Stanley is survived by his wife Kathleen (Joudrey); daughters Donna and husband Carl Varner ; Whites Lake. Diane and husband Arden Robar; Farmington. Brothers; Edmund Haines, Dartmouth; Clinton Haines and his partner Leona Harris, Farmington. Grandchildren: Josh Robar, Megan Varner, Katlyne Robar, Shawna Varner and Hudson Varner; Great Grandson Collin Robar along with two nieces and a nephew. He was predeceased by his sister Rosamond McKay, New Brunswick. Stanley was an avid horseman; he showed, worked, pulled and displayed horses for the majority of his years, gaining him countless friends wherever he went. His most beloved team being a small pair of bays; (Polly and Star) helped to solidify this passion for the Draft Horse. As a result, Stanley developed exceptional skills as a talented harness maker; and as a result, there are countless pieces being utilised throughout his local region; and with some creations currently being used for special purposes, in the state of Vermont. Stanley was a true outdoorsman, he loved to snowmobile, fish and to hunt; anything that involved the outdoors life style. He also relished the community and could often be counted upon to partake in a few games of darts or to play in the ongoing card games, of almost any social event. Stanley was no stranger to a days work, he started earning his wages as a pre-teen and worked to race time for his entire life, never taking it for granted. As a Farmer of all respects, he grew everything from food crops to forest products and even flowers on occasion, his days started early and lasted long, naturally working as a Truck Driver for time. Most important of all Stanley was a Farmer of people: a Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather, with an ever growing list of friends; he used his wisdom to help everyone that ever met him to grow; to also race time and never waste any of it! Visitation will be held 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. Monday October 27 in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 4895 Highway 10, New Germany and also from where the funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M., Tuesday October 28.
