Ritchie Jodrey
60 of Pinehurst passed away suddenly on Friday February 14, 2014 in New Germany. With heavy hearts we lost a wonderful brother, husband , father, grand-father and uncle. Ritchie retired after 30 years of employment in January 2006 from Michelin, Bridgewater Plant. He was an outdoorsmen who loved caring for his woodlot, using his power saw, fishing and hunting. Although he retired, he still work outside the home for Ivan Veinotte and most recently for Gerald Delong of Barss Corner. He had been a volunteer firefighter with the New Germany and District Fire Department with over 20 years of service. He recently joined the Truckers Association of Nova Scotia. Born in Middle Musquodoboit, he was the son of the late Loraine and Margaret (Woodworth) Jodrey. Ritchie is survived by his loving wife of 37 years Marilyn (Dorey); daughter Bernice (Peter) Thomas, North Williamston; son Brenton Jodrey, Pinehurst; sisters Susan (Wayne) Connors, New Ross; Nancy (Boyd) Drew, Springfield; Celia Connors, New Ross; Pam (Kevin) Wile, New Canada; Jennifer (Junior) Carver, Pinehurst; granddaughters Brooke and Chole Thomas. Numerous nieces and nephews, brother in-laws and sister in-laws. He was predeceased by his brothers Blain and Robin in infancy. Visitation will be held 7:00 to 9:00 P.M., Monday February 17th in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 4895 Highway 10, New Germany. Funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M., Tuesday February 18th in Epworth United Church, New Germany, Rev. Leon Langille officiating. Burial will follow in the Pinehurst Community Cemetery. Reception to follow at the New Germany Legion. Family flowers only, please. Donations are requested to go to the family to help them in this most difficult time.
