Obituary of Violet Olive Nauss
Violet Olive (Cowell) Nauss
Age 86, Petite Riviere, Lunenburg Co., passed away on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 in Queens General Hospital, Liverpool. Violet was the daughter of the late Elliott and Loretta (Phalen) Nauss. She was an active member of Wesley United Church, Petite Riviere and a long-time member of the UCW. She helped the ladies auxiliary of the Petite Riviere Volunteer Fire Department where she and Greta Gates could be found selling tickets at the monthly breakfasts. She also looked forward to her daily drives with Donald to Green Bay. If there was anything happening in the community, she, Greta and Hilda could be counted on to fill in the details. Surviving are her sons, David (Genny) and Doug (Betty) and son in law, Lamoine; grandchildren, Evan, Matthew, Logan Sherri, Krista, Heather, Michael and Jason; great grandchildren, Brendon, Reagan, Morgen, Mackenzie, Emma and Owen; sisters, Beulah Hirtle, Nina LeGay, Marguerite Lohnes; brothers, Earl (Vanna) Nauss, Lee (Margaret) Nauss. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband and partner in life, Donald; daughter, Florence Himmelman; sons, Evan and Paul; brothers, Glen and Carl; a sister in infancy. Visitation 2-4 p.m., Friday in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater. Funeral service 2 p.m., Saturday in Wesley United Church, Petite Riviere. Rev. Vivian Moores officiating. Family flowers only, donations may be made to Wesley United Church building fund or Petite Riviere Volunteer Fire Department truck fund.
