Obituary of Edith Louisa Beck
Edith Louisa Beck
Age 92, passed away Monday July 13, 2015 at Ryan Hall, Bridgewater known to those who knew her and loved her as Kitty. Born in England, she was the daughter of the late John and Edith Willis (Morley). A beautiful British Lass who met a young Canadian solider, Harry and fell head over heels in love with during the Second World War to finally make Canada her home, she went on to have 8 children, her daughters, Christine Frausell, Halifax; Wendy Lohnes (Carl Eisner), New Germany; Jill Little Beck, Bridgewater; Annette Hubley (Eric Higgins), Bridgewater; sons, John Beck (Deborah), Bridgewater; Mike Beck (Gwen Garber), Bridgewater; Peter Beck (Ester), Hebbville; Lawrence Beck, Bridgewater; 17 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by our dad, Harry; 12 brothers and sisters in England and a grandson in infancy. All of whom she loved deeply. It is a bitter sweet passing as she has gone to be with those before her, our Dad whom she lost in 1991, her own dad whom she lost at the tender age of 3 months in England, and her mom to whom she lost and only to have seen her one more time after 1945 as she visited her here in Canada and returned to England. We miss her already and to quote her one more time "Don't take life to serious, laugh often, love deeply, forget quickly and lighten up". To our forever mom we love you loads xoxox. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater. There will be no visitation by request with a private family graveside service, Rev. Simon Davies officiating. Family flowers only, please. Memorial donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society. On-line condolences may be made by visiting www.sweenysfuneralhome.com or by messaging condolences@sweenysfuneralhome.com.
