Obituary of Neil Chambers

Neil Chambers At age 78, of Crescent Beach, Lunenburg Co., passed away at Harbour View Haven, Lunenburg on Thursday, December 24, 2015 with his family by his side. Born on November 18, 1937, he was the son of the late Thomas and Francis Chambers. Neil was a proud veteran of the Canadian Forces for over 31 years. After retirement from the Canadian Forces in 1987, Neil and Sheila moved back to Nova Scotia where he became a dedicated volunteer with the LaHave and District Fire Department and the LaHave Island Marine Museum. He was an avid wood carver and family man. Neil is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sheila (Romkey); daughter, Jennifer (Brian) Ste-Croix; son, Tom Chambers; grandchildren, Ashley, Kevin, Joshua, Jonah and Jaetta; sister, Fran (Don) McCarthy; and brother, Don (Shelagh) Chambers. He was predeceased by sisters, Evelyn (Johnny) Fostaychuk and Doreen (Frank) Mazur. Cremation has taken place. Private family burial will be held in Ottawa at a later date. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, January 2, 2016 at the West Dublin Community Hall from 2 – 4 pm.
