Obituary of Richard Gordon Dowd

Richard Gordon Dowd Age 81. Richard (Dick) Dowd passed away Saturday, February 7, 2015 at the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born September 25, 1933 in Halifax, he was the son of the late Walter and Cecelia (Roma) Dowd. After a long career at the Bedford Institute of Oceanography, he retired in 1989, moving from Halifax, eventually to reside in Bridgewater. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Connie (Oxley) and their children, Mike, Ketch Harbour; Joanne (Wallace Kennedy), Ancaster, Ont.; Nancy, Lunenburg; grandson, Alex Kennedy. He was predeceased by sister, Patricia; brothers, Gerald and Walter. There will be no service held by personal request. If so desired, donations can be made to the charity of your choice. Family internment will take place at a later date.
