Obituary of John Hannah
John Hannah
In sadness, the family of John Hannah (his partner, Tamar Drushka and his children, Jessie, Bobbie, William, Benjamin, Branwen and Lily) are announcing that he has moved on from this world on August 27, 2015. He leaves a legacy of his six children who value the resilience and unconditional support he provided. Whether it be co-hosting the original Atlantic Earth Festival or living The Philosopher’s Stone adventure, John was known for his lighthearted conversation and environmental values. When we leave this earth, we can only hope that the effect we have had on those around us will be genuine, positive and enduring; as was the effect John Hannah had on those who knew him. Extended thanks go out from the Hannah family for the continued support and compassion of friends and relatives. A small ceremony to celebrate his life and passing will be held for John on Saturday, Sept 5 at 11am in at Lake William public beach, followed by a drumming. Donations can be made in his name to the Nova Scotia Food Bank. The Christopher’s motto: “It’s better to light one candle than to curse the darkness.” was a guiding foundation for John; his wishes would be that we let this guide our grief.
