Obituary of Berthe Hebb

Berthe "Dianne" Hebb Age 89, Bridgewater, Lunenburg Co., passed away peacefully surrounded by close family members on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 in the QEII Infirmary in Halifax. Born in Chicoutimi, Quebec, she was the daughter of Louis and Eliziana (Martel) Tremblay. Survived by daughter Sandra (Charles) Powers, Bridgewater; son, Michael (Cheryl) Hebb, Fall River, as well as grandchildren; Marlee and Erin Powers, Bridgewater, and Alexander and Jeremy Hebb, Fall River. She was predeceased by her husband William Bert Hebb; sisters, Ida, Solange, and Thérèse. She spent her earlier years in Chicoutimi where she met and married Bill. Over the years, Bill’s job led her to move to many of Canada’s northern ‘bush’ communities. They retired in Bridgewater in 1979, where Dianne became a long-time member of the Bridgewater Garden Club and many other community groups. She had many hobbies, but gardening was her true passion. To her grandchildren, Dianne was thought of as a ‘hip grandma’. She was an avid reader and loved to keep her grandchildren updated on current events. She remained independent and active until her final days. There will be no visitation at the funeral home by request. A private family graveside service will be held in Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater, Father Jim MacDonald, OMI, officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of choice.
