Obituary of Erminie Mavis Herman

Erminie Mavis Herman Age 90, Broad Cove, Lunenburg Co., passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 in Mahone Nursing Home, Mahone Bay, where she had been residing. Born in Broad Cove, she was a daughter of the late Wellesley Earl Smith and Jessie Odessa Teal, formerly of Broad Cove. Erminie was predeceased by husband, Gerald Jessen Herman; daughter, Sharon Muriel Borgel. She is survived by daughters, Margaret (Charles) Meisner, Hebbs Cross; Muriel (Edgar) Conrad; Broad Cove; grandchildren, Linda (Tim) Reardon, Halifax; Brenda (Gordon) Stevenson, Timberlea; Kari Meisner, Bridgewater; Brad Meisner, Halifax; as well as great-grandchildren, Sean and Meaghan Reardon, Brooke and Brea Stevenson; brother, Chester (Mary) Smith, Broad Cove. Erminie lived life for family, friends her church and community. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and a good friend. She was a dedicated member to her Anglican Church Women’s group, an active member of Turquoise Rebecca Lodge until its dissolution and belonged to her community’s seniors groups, in the past Beachcombers and more recently Young At Heart. She was also an active member in her new community of Mahone Nursing Home as part of the Resident Council and enjoyed bingo, music, baking, church, hymn sings and art class. A heartfelt thank you is extended to Dr. Raymond and the staff who provided her with excellent care. No visitation at the funeral home by request. Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Monday, June 29 at St. Mark’s Anglican Church, Broad Cove. Rev. Oliver Osmond officiating followed by interment at Forest Hill Cemetery, Broad Cove.
