Obituary of Muriel Molly Hicks

Muriel Molly Hicks It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Muriel Molly Hicks on March 20, 2015 in Twin Oaks Memorial Hospital, Musquodoboit Harbour. Born in New Germany, she was a daughter of the late Obediah and Louise (fancy) Varner. She proudly served in the Royal Canadian Air Force at an early age, leaving to start a family with Allison Walter Hicks. She enjoyed many years of camping , fishing and hunting with the love of her life and many dear friends. Her love of sports included hockey, boxing, softball, and badminton. She took immense pride in restoring the family homestead with sisters, Lucy and Hazel with Christmas being a shining example. She will be deeply missed by son, Stephen, Carrie and grandchildren, Brian and Justin; nieces, nephews and many other family members and many life-long friends. She was predeceased by parents; husband, Allison Hicks; sisters, Gladys Tipert, Helen Sleep, Hazel Wright, Lucy Gunn and brother, Robert Varner. A public graveside service of committal will be held 1 p.m., Sunday, May 31 in Advocate Harbour Community Cemetery, Advocate Harbour, Cumberland County. Donations may be made to Twin Oaks Memorial Hospital or charity of choice.
