Obituary of Sharon Darlene Hirtle

Sharon Darlene Hirtle Age 65, Mount Pleasant, Lunenburg Co., died peacefully on Tuesday morning, April 28, 2015 in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in La Junta, Colorado on December 22, 1949, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Hazel (Hickman) Davis and sister of the late Anne Davis. Sharon has gone home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She lived to do God’s will and was a true woman of God. She was a dedicated wife and mother, seamstress, baker and teacher. She was known by many as the “fruitcake lady” and loved by all who met her. She was caring, loving, giving and loyal. She was an active member of the South Shore Baptist Church and TOPS Club. Sharon is survived by her husband, Gerald Eugene Hirtle, whom she married on June 30, 1973; children, Garth (Kristin) Hirtle, Coalhurst, Alb.; Nathan (Angela) Hirtle, Hubley; Michelle (Bill) Shikatani, Toronto, Ont; Charlene (Dave) Maund, New Hamburg, Ont.; granddaughters, Ava, Katherine, Emily, Khloe and Rachel. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Friday, in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, May 2 in Pleasantville Baptist Church, Pleasantville. Pastor Tim Garrett officiating, Pastor Mitchell Foley, assisting. Burial will be in Pleasantville Cemetery, Pleasantville. A reception will follow in the Pleasantville Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or charity of choice.
