Obituary of Mildred M. Jarvis

Mildred "Tillie" M. Jarvis Passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater at the age of 84. Born on September 1, 1931 in Yarmouth County, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Gertrude (Moses) Hazelton, formerly of Chegoggin. She moved to New Germany, Lunenburg Co., with her family in 1967. She is survived by her husband, Denis Jarvis; daughter, Janice (Walter) Joudrey, Upper Northfield; son, Dwight Roberts (Rachel Deveau), St. Jean, Que.; granddaughters, Meaghan Penney, Melissa Parsons, Danielle MacDonald, step granddaughter, Tracey Jarvis; step grandson, Mark Jarvis; great-grandson, Carter, step great-grandson, Elliot; sister, Evelyn Ashe, Dartmouth; brothers, Bernard, Ontario; Reigh (Susan), Yarmouth Co., many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Dyson Roberts; sisters, Ardella Rose, Thelma Power; brothers, Kenneth, Prescott and Leonard, all formerly of Yarmouth County. Tillie loved a good game of cards, doing crossword puzzles, watching the Toronto Blue Jays and listening to Anne Murray. Every year on her birthday, there was always a large display of brightly colored balloons, tied to a tree on her front lawn, placed there sometime through the night by the “balloon fairies”, they were always appreciated. Tillie was a former employee of Suttles and Seawinds, New Germany, retiring in 1987. By personal request, a private family service will be held with interment at a later date in Epworth Cemetery, New Germany. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the New Germany and Area Medical Centre, Canadian Red Cross or charity of choice.
