Obituary of Carroll Douglas Mansfield

Carroll Douglas Mansfield Age 92 of Mahone Bay, formerly of Kempt, Queens Co., passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2015 in Mahone Nursing Home, Mahone Bay. Born in Westfield, Queens Co., he was a son of the late Melton and Lilla (Weare) Mansfield. Carroll worked at the Halifax Shipyards as a Millwright until his retirement. In November 1968 he received a certificate of recognition for his 16 years as Fire Chief of the Fairview Volunteer Fire Department. He was also a member of Mechanic Lodge No. 78 located in Caledonia, Queens County. He is survived by his daughters, Donna Clow, Fairview; Maxine Stacey, Cow Bay; daughter-in-law, Hazel Mansfield, Kempt; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Carroll was predeceased by his wife, Annie Isabelle (Forrest); daughter, Marilyn Keating; son, Donald Mansfield and companion Isobel Lohnes. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater. In keeping with Carroll’s wishes there will be no formal service and a private interment will take place at a later date. No flowers by request.
