Obituary of Gordon Alexander Marcott
Gordon Alexander "Sandy" Marcott
Age 61, Bridgewater and New Germany, Lunenburg Co. It is with great sadness that Sandy’s girls announce his sudden passing on Thursday, March 5, 2015 in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Trenton, on November 29, 1953, he is surviving by his mother, Mary Rita “Mae” (MacNeil) Marcott, Stellarton; wife, Nancy (Aulenback), Greenfield; brothers, David (Nancy), New Glasgow; Paul (Angie), Truro; sisters, Toni (Wayne) Pelerine, New Glasgow; Joan Marie Harris, Charlottetown, PE; daughters, Michelle (Scott) Doucette, New Germany; Victoria Marcott (Trevor Colp), Springfield; granddaughters, Caitlyn Doucette and Renee Doucette, both of New Germany; sister in law, Peggy Smith, Halifax; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Henry and infant brother, John. Sandy was an avid sportsman playing hockey and softball in his younger years in New Glasgow and later on in Bridgewater. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. Sandy was employed as a “milkman” with Scotsburn Dairy; worked at Michelin in both New Glasgow and Bridgewater; as the “breadman” with Butternut and later worked at the South Shore Regional School Board and various landscaping companies. Service of Remembrance will be held 2 p.m., Monday, March 9, 2015 in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater. Rev. Ivan Norton officiating. A private family burial will take place. Donations may be made to SHAID Animal Shelter of his “granddaughter” Copper whom he loved dearly. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to the 4th floor nursing staff at South Shore Regional Hospital and doctors, Heather Robertson and Greg Jansen for their wonderful care.
