Obituary of Rafael Navarro

Rafael Navarro, Sr. Age 87, of Bridgewater, NS, Canada, passed away peacefully on November 25, 2015, at South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Tingloy, Batangas, Philippines, he was the son of Julia and Libirato Navarro. He is survived by his children Puri (Angelito Castro) of Las Vegas, USA; Rafael Jr. (Salve Navarro) of Vienna, Austria; Eugenia (Ariel Castillo) of Quezon City, Philippines; Marilou (Brian Hall) of Bridgewater, NS; and Melchor (Rowena Navarro) of Dartmouth, NS; and by his grandchildren Pia, Jerome, Lulu, BJ, Anne Marie, Joseph, James, Meena, Romelle, and Choreena. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Primativa, and son, Edwin (Philippines). Rafael lived a prosperous life, being an esteemed captain of a Manila based fishing vessel, traveling throughout East Asia. After his marine career, he came to retire in Canada. Rafael will rest at Pine Grove Cemetery, with visitation Sunday, November 29 from 7pm-9pm at Sweeny's Funeral Home in Bridgewater, with Funeral Mass on Tuesday December 1 at 2pm at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Bridgewater.
