Obituary of Maureen Elizabeth Risser
Maureen Elizabeth Risser
On Friday, June 12, 2015, the good Lord opened his hand to gently and peacefully guide his special Angel, Maureen Elizabeth Risser, 56, of Wentzell Lake to be by his side. Maureen was born in Burin, Newfoundland. She will reunite with her parents, Luke and Theresa (Reid) Kilfoy, and her two sisters and one brother. The memories of her love, kindness, and compassion will be forever in the hearts of her beloved husband Scott, her daughter Vanessa Risser and a very special girl, Aislin. These fond memories will be shared with her three sisters and two brothers and their respective families, Patsy, Kathleen, Marg, Edmund and Leo. Through them all she will be forever with us. Maureen provided something special to everyone she knew and she received something special in return. She loved every moment to the fullest and she always was willing to share her love of those moments with those she loved and cared for so deeply. She loved and faced the many challenges that were bestowed upon her and her strength and commitment permitted her to overcome them all. Her passion to give her all was evident in everything that she did, whether it be professional, volunteer, or personal. Simply, she was and will always be a very special lady. A public Legion Tribute Service will be held 7:00 pm., Tuesday, June 16 followed by words of comfort by Rev. Catherine Robar with public visitation continuing until 9:00 pm., at Sweeny's Funeral Home, 4895 Highway 10, New Germany. Maureen and her husband Scott will share a burial at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the I.W.K. Hospital, Halifax.
