Obituary of G. Calvin Beck

of G. Calvin Beck 88, of Watford, Lunenburg County, passed away on Friday August 15, 2008 in Queens Regional Hospital, Liverpool. Born in Baker settlement, he was the son of the late Lydia (Wentzell) and Collin Beck. He was a member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, Upper Northfield and a long time member of Maple Lodge Number 155, of Maplewood, and truly enjoyed the fellowship of Elliott and Glen and other lodge members. During his working years, he was employed with Bowater Mersey, and Acadia Contractors Limited Calvin is survived by his daughters Janice (Larry) Holland, Watford; Linda (Donald) Durling, Victoria Mines, Cape Breton; sister Helen (Lester) Beck, Baker Settlement; brother Lowell (Phyllis) Beck, Baker Settlement; Grandchildren Kevin (Waleska) Holland, Houston Texas; Matthew (Tara) Holland, Fredericton; Belinda (Gary) Deveaux, Victoria Mines, Cape Breton; James Durling (Lori), Toronto and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Vera and sisters Marion and Daisy. There will be no visitation by request. Funeral service will be held 11 am Thursday August 21 in Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, Upper Northfield, Rev. William Gustafson officiating. Private family burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Upper Northfield. Family flowers only, please.
