Obituary of Doris Veinot
Doris Veinot
Age 97 of Bridgewater, passed away on Sunday June 7, 2015 in Harbour View Haven Home for Special Care, Lunenburg. Born in London England, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Minnie (Barrett) Mann. She is survived by her daughter Pauline Tanner, Lunenburg; son Dwight (Jane) Veinot, Stillwater Lake; brother Frederick Mann, Hythe England; grandchildren Steven (Jodi) Tanner. Roger (Wendy) Tanner, Stefanie (Darin) Johnston, Christopher and Michelle Veinot; great grandchildren Justin (Ashley), Matthew, Brynlie, Dryden, Keilyn, Emma and Amy, brother-in-law Raymond Goldsmith, England; sister-in-law Grace Veinotte, Lunenburg along with several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Ralph “Tootie”; sister Rose Griffith and Minnie Goldsmith, brothers Tom and Bill Mann. Doris married “her Canadian Soldier” Ralph in August 1942. In 1946, after the War, as Ralph continued duties with the Canadian Army at Canada House in London, Doris and daughter Pauline made an Atlantic crossing on the Queen Mary bound for Bridgewater, Nova Scotia. Beginning a new life in a new country with the support of the Veinot family. Doris was a long-time member of the Holy Trinity Anglican Church and active with the ACW and the Senior Choir. A special thank you to the awesome staff at Harbour View Haven for the love and caring shown to Mum over the last eight years. Love you all! Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater. There will be no visitation by request. Funeral service will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday June 11 in Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Bridgewater, Father Michael Mitchell officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Family flowers only, memorial donations may be made to Harbour View Haven Garden Club or the charity of choice.
