Obituary of Harold Wallace Veinot

Harold Wallace Veinot April 10, 1928-November 08, 2015 - It is with joy for a life well lived and a profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved father and grandfather, Harold Wallace Veinot, age 87, of Pinehurst, Lunenburg County, on Sunday, November 8, 2015 in the QEII Health Sciences Center, Halifax. Born in Bridgewater, April 10, 1928, he was the son of the late Austin and Cora (Wile) Veinot. Harold proudly served in the Royal Canadian Air Force at the end of the Second World War and became one of the first trained jet aircraft mechanics in Canada. Upon discharge, he built and operated the Irving service station in Pinehurst for many years. He worked as a sales representative for Glidden Paints prior to his retirement. He is survived by daughters, Janet (Robert) Nash, Halifax; Mary Anne (Ray) Eisener, Timberlea; Annette (Bill) Doucette, Hubbards; grandchildren, Christopher, Michael, and Jonathan Nash, Steven Eisener, Elise and Liam Doucette; step-grandchildren, Wayne (Jennifer) Eisener, Lorri (Joseph) Uhlman, and Shannon Robar; step-great grandchildren, Chelsea and Allison Eisener, Michael Uhlman and Lucas Robar. He was predeceased by his wife, Betty; brothers Lowell, Lawrence and Ralph. Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m., Wednesday, November 11 in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater. By personal request, there will be no public funeral service. A family burial will be held at a later date in Pinehurst Community Cemetery, Pinehurst. Family flowers only, memorial donations may be made to the South Shore Regional Hospital or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
