Obituary of Richard James Brunt

Richard James Brunt It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our loving husband and father at the age of 62. He was born in Halifax on April 28, 1954, to the late George and Iris (MacDonald) Brunt. During his working years he was employed with Parks Canada as a Park Warden. Richard was a talented fisherman and canoe paddler. He thoroughly enjoyed his time spent outdoors and at the beach; he was a sports enthusiast; he loved spending time with family. Surviving are his wife of 31 years, Donna Marie (Kavanaugh); son, James Brunt and fiancée Nichole Bush, Mahone Bay; brothers, Stephen and Anthony and their families. Special thanks to the staff at 3rd Floor IMCU at the QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax Infirmary. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Sunday, August 7 in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater, with prayers at 7 p.m.. Funeral Mass will be held 11 a.m., Monday, August 8 in St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Bridgewater. Father Jim MacDonald, OMI, officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Nova Scotia Lung Association or SHAID Tree Animal Shelter.
