Obituary of Sharon Adele Corkum

Sharon Adele (Blakney) Corkum October 3, 1948 - October 20, 2016. It is with a heavy heart that the family of Sharon Adele Corkum, of Oakhill Lunenburg Co., announce her passing at the QE11 Health Science Centre, Halifax. Sharon spent her 30 year career as a hair dresser starting out at the Stay Curl on King Street, Bridgewater. After retirement Sharon enjoyed spending time with her beloved grandsons, James and Maxwell Corkum, Hantsport. She enjoyed attending and received much strength from her Church, St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Bridgewater especially during her declining health. Sharon was predeceased by her father and mother James and Marion Blakney, Bridgewater. She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years Everett Corkum, Oakville and her only child which she had much pride in Darren Corkum (Becky) Hantsport and 2 grandsons James and Maxwell Corkum Hantsport. Along with many close friends including Donna Aulenback and family who was like a sister to her. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held 7:00 to 9:00 P.M., Monday October 24 in Sweeny`s Funeral Home, Bridgewater. A memorial service will be held 11:00 A.M., Tuesday October 25, also in Sweeny's Funeral Home, Bridgewater, Rev. Paul Jensen officiating. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made in her memory to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Bridgewater or SHAID Animal Shelter, Oakhill.
