Obituary of Zella Roxanna Burns

of Zella Roxanna Burns 93, New Germany, formerly of Barss Corner, Lunenburg County, passed away Sunday, May 25, 2008 in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Scarsdale, she was the daughter of the late Caleb Adam and Ella Margaret (Mossman) Webber. Zella was a long time member of the Barss Corner United Baptist Church and the Baptist ladies auxiliary, she was also a member of the Barss Corner Women’s Institute. Zella loved to travel and spend time with her children and their families; she also enjoyed crossword puzzles and knitting. Prior to retirement, she and her husband, Herbert, owned and operated a service station in Petawawa, Ontario and later, a general store in Vogler’s Cove. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Foster, Willoughby Hills, Ohio; son Ronald (Beverly) Ramey, Petawawa, Ont; sisters, Thelma Pierce, Halifax; Gertrude Veinot, Bridgewater; E. Marie Snyder, Simpsons Corner; grandchildren, Paul, Christopher, Timothy and Scott; great granddaughter, Lisa; great- great grandson, Paul; many nieces and nephews. Zella was predeceased by her husband Herbert; sisters, Thurza London, Frances Hubley; brothers Franklyn Webber, Leroy Webber. There will be no visitation at the funeral home by request. A private family graveside service will be held in Barss Corner Community Cemetery, Rev Jennifer Joudrey officiating. No flowers by request, memorial donations may be made to the Barss Corner Community Hall or charity of choice.
