Obituary of Ivy Pearl DeMone

Ivy Pearl DeMone A sweet, sweet lady has passed away at the age of 91 on August 28, 2016. Ivy raised her large family in North River, Lunenburg County but was a resident of Harbour View Haven Nursing Home, Lunenburg for the past few years. Born in North River, she was a daughter of the late James and Mary (Burns) DeMone. Ivy was an avid reader; loved to sing, especially the hymns that she would hear in the church she loved to attend. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, North River where she was a Sunday school teacher. She was a tremendous cook and a great caring mother. Surviving are her children, Arnold Jr. (Marlene), Gerald (Elaine), Shirley (Eugene) Meisner, Alan, Marlene (Raymond) Robar, Rosanne (Bobby) Flemming, David (Tammy), Dale (Carla), Randy (Donna) and Christopher (Trudie); Ivy was very proud of her 19 grandchildren, many, many great grandchildren and her great-great grandson; she was also survived by a sister, Eva Hirtle. She was predeceased by her husband, Arnold; son, Carl; brother, James; sister, Faye; granddaughters Lana Dawn Meisner and Baby DeMone; grandson, Andrew Robar. She has joined them in peace. We would like to thank all those who have been so kind with visits, music and friendship. Ivy enjoyed every second of it. We thank the doctors and caregivers at Harbour View Haven who were so kind to her; she loved those many fist bumps. We must thank Hattie who was the best roommate that Ivy could have asked to have. We all love and appreciate all that Ivy has been to us. She is missed by many. Visitation for family and friends will be 7-9 p.m., Tuesday, August 30 in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 4895 route 10, New Germany. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 31 in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, North River. Rev. David Whynot officiating with burial in the church cemetery.
