Obituary of Shirlette Louise Emino
Shirlette Louise Emino
Age 68, of Simpsons Corner, Lunenburg Co., passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 in Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg, with her family by her side. Born in Baker Settlement, she was a daughter of the late Reginald and Olive (Wentzell) Seamone. Shirlette began her working career in administration with Walters Christmas Tree Company and later with Kirk Forest Products. She then began working in retail in the village of New Germany as a Sears Catalogue Outlet agent and store clerk with L&W Tamblermart, then Pins’n Needles and lastly with Ritcey’s Electric, where she retired in 2009. Shirlette worked tirelessly for her church community where she served as the parish treasurer for the Anglican Parish of New Germany and then more recently as church treasurer for St. John in the Wilderness Anglican Church, where she was a member, sang in the choir, served as past Warden, Sunday School teacher, ACW and altar guild member. Surviving are her daughters, Krista (Paul) Savory, Simpsons Corner; Amanda (Shawn) Emino-Mawhinney, Saint John; Katrina (Joe Gallant) Emino, Simpsons Corner; grandchildren, Donavan, Colby, Sebastian, Tia, Myelle; step grandchildren, Matthew, Jost, Morgan; step great grandchildren, Kolby, Jacey and Sarah-Dawn; her sister, Joyce (Walter) Hayes, Cole Harbour; a brother, Wendell (Judy) Seamone, Blockhouse; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Aubrey F. Emino; sisters, Marlene Hirtle, Maritta Munroe and her twin brother, Shirlen Seamone. Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m., Saturday, April 23 in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 4895 route 10, New Germany. Celebration of Life will be held 2 p.m., Sunday, April 24 in St. John in the Wilderness Anglican Church, New Germany, with Bishop Stephen Kristenson and Rev. Catherine Robar officiating. A reception will immediately follow in the church hall. A private family interment will take place in Hillside Cemetery, Simpsons Corner. Family flowers only please, donations may be made to the St. John in the Wilderness Anglican Church, Palliative Care Services of the South Shore, VON Lunenburg County branch, Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital. Shirlette wanted to thank the chemotherapy unit of the Nova Scotia Cancer Center, Dr. John Jenkins, Pastor Stephen Kristenson, the VON and palliative care workers.
