Obituary of Verna Maude Hubley

Verna Maude Hubley Age 99 of Bridgewater, Lunenburg Co., formerly of Blockhouse, passed away at the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 with her loving family by her side. Born in Clearland, she was the daughter of the late Owen and Maude (Schnare) Wentzell. Along with her own family, Verna was “Nanny” to many others who fondly considered her to be their own grandmother. All of us were so fortunate to have Nanny with us for so many years. While we know that she is happy to finally be with Poppy, her passing leaves us with sad hearts but also happy memories. She is survived by her grandchildren, Debra (David), Gary (Carolyn), Linda (Shawn), Graham (Christine), Patricia, Daniel (Sue); great-grandchildren, Ryan, Ashley, Nicole, Thomas, Alexander and Erika. She was predeceased by husband, Ernest; son, Carroll; daughters, Doreen Sarty and 6 month old Joyce; brothers, Clyde, Moyle, Roy, Elmer, Ralph, Ross, Carl, Lloyd, Earle and a sister, Elsie Farquhar. There will be no visitation or service at this time. A graveside service will be held at Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to South Shore Regional Hospital, The Ark Industries or a charity of choice. A special thanks to the friends, neighbours and especially Toni who made Nanny’s life more enjoyable. Nanny always knew Toni would be by her side, and she was. Her family want to thank the staff of Lunenburg County Home Support and South Shore Regional Hospital.
