Obituary of Isobell Rosella MacKay

Isobell Rosella MacKay Age 85, New Germany, Lunenburg Co., passed away peacefully with her three children by her side on Monday, April 11, 2016 in the Rosedale Home for Special Care, New Germany. Born in Cherryfield, she was a daughter of the late Vernon and Alma (Whynot) Demone. She was a member of Epworth United Church, New Germany and the UCW; she was a 50 year member and a past president of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary branch 102, New Germany; avid member of the former Rebekah Lodge. She loved to bake and share it with her family and friends and for many years, sold her baked goods at various community craft shows. Isobell loved to celebrate the holidays with her family. Surviving are her children, Juzille Sim, Halifax; Vance (Melanie) MacKay, Kingston; Delilah (Wade) Crouse, Nineveh; 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; sister, Thelma Kelly, Bridgewater and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Mark MacKay. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m., Wednesday, April 13 in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 4895 route 10, New Germany where a Legion Ladies Auxiliary tribute will be at 7 p.m. Funeral service will follow at 2 p.m., Thursday, April 14 in Epworth United Church, New Germany with Rev. David Lutes officiating. Interment will be in Epworth Cemetery, New Germany.
