Obituary of Marjorie Elizabeth Rhodenizer

Marjorie Elizabeth Rhodenizer The family of Marjorie Elizabeth Rhodenizer of Bridgewater are saddened to announce her sudden passing in her home on Friday, January 22, 2016 at the age of 84. Marjorie was born in Worcester, Massachusetts and was the only daughter of the late Ernest and Grace (Huey) Corkum, formerly of Mount Pleasant. In years past, Marjorie was the owner and operator of a used furniture business. Along with her husband she was co-founder of the Horseshoe Beverage Room and Grill, Liverpool. She was a member of the Jadeites, Bridgewater Rifle Club and the Travers’ Club. Marjorie especially enjoyed her time at her cottage on Big Mush a Mush Lake. Her passions included motorcycling, four-wheeling, reading, painting ceramics, camping and fishing at Kejimkujik. She and Murray enjoyed many trips throughout Canada, Eastern USA , Caribbean and Central America. Her true and heart felt passion was her family and she will be dearly missed by all. She is survived by her husband, Murray, of 62 years; her daughters, Linda (Kevin) Curran, Upper Tantallon; Nancy (John) Rhodenizer-Smith, Pinegrove; granddaughter, Farrah Lynn Curran (Kevin Bevis); grandsons, Mark Smith (Staci Fudge) and Luke Smith (Emily Statton). She was predeceased by her brother Paul; special aunt, Harriet and several aunts and uncles. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m., Tuesday, January 26 in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater. Service of Celebration of Marjorie’s life will be 1 p.m., Wednesday, January 27, 2016 in the Bridgewater United Church, Bridgewater with Rev. David Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater. By request, family flowers only please, donations may be made to S.H.A.I.D Animal Shelter or Hope for Hirtle Fund.
