Obituary of Betty Geraldine Silver

Betty Geraldine Silver Age 72 of Watford, Lunenburg County passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Cherryfield, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Lela (Acker) Robar. She was a skilled seamstress in her working career. She took great pride as a homemaker and providing for her family. She was happiest when she was surrounded with people sharing laughter and her warm smile. Most often she would end a telephone conversation with, "Come back when you can". As a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, branch 102 in New Germany, she spent many hours organizing events. Betty is survived by her sons, Gerald “Jerry” Silver, Watford; Kevin (Jennifer) Silver, King William, Virginia; daughter, Bonnie (Earl) Meisner, Bridgewater; sisters, Carolanne (Larry Ernst) Eisnor, Cherryfield; Donna (Gilford) Kempton, Caledonia; Patti (Larry Sangestino) Robar, Ontario; brothers, Merlin Robar, Carson (Rose) Robar and Bruce (Sandi) Robar all of North River; grandchildren, Michael (Ashley), Dylan, Brett, Shelby, Brandon, JJ, Tyler and Hannah; great grandson, Isaiah along with many nieces, nephews and other extended family members. While many can say that Betty was a friend, she was especially close with Margaret, Vivian, Linda and Charlene. She was predeceased by her husband, Douglas; sister, Helena Demone and brother, John Robar. Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m., Friday, March 11 in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 4895 route 10, New Germany, where funeral service will also be, at 1 p.m., Saturday, March 12 with Rev. Svante Olson officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Family flowers only, please.
