Obituary of Merville Worrell Smith

Merville Worrell Smith Age 90, Broad Cove, Lunenburg co., passed away on December 6, 2016 in Orchard Court, Kentville. Born in Broad Cove he was a son of the late Roy and Mildred (Conrad) Smith. Merville was a meat cutter by trade and worked with his father for many years. Eventually becoming self- employed with the business. In later years, he worked at the former Shamrock Grocery Store, Bridgewater until his retirement. He was a member of St. Mark’s Anglican Church, Broad Cove where he served as warden for many years as well as various committees; he also served as Parish Warden for 30 years. He is survived by sisters, Otella Herman, Broad Cove; Faye (Bob) Bassett, Dartmouth; Claire Reinhardt, Halifax; besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 51 years, Juanita (Conrad); brother, Vance; sister, Margaret. Memorial service will be 2 p.m., Thursday, December 15, in St. Mark’s Anglican Church, Broad Cove. Rev. Oliver Osmond officiating. Interment will take place at a later date in Forest Hill Cemetery.
