Marjorie E. (Doody) Wallace
Age 94 of Bridgewater, formerly of Bayside passed away Saturday, January 2, 2016 in her family home with her daughter Susan at her side. Born in Shoreham by Sea, Sussex County England she was the daughter of the late Isaac and Mabel (Burtenshaw) Doody. Marjorie was a War Bride and with her daughter Christine crossed the Atlantic on the Dutch Steamer SS Volendam to join her husband Bert Wallace who was wounded in the Second World War. Marjorie was a Past Provincial President of the Legion’s Ladies Auxiliary in Bathurst NB. She is survived by her brothers Donald Doody, Gretna, Scotland; Tony Doody, Brighton, England; daughters, Christine (Garfield) Morrison, Dartmouth; Gillian (Scott Follows) Wallace Kentville; Susan (Ralph) Wallace-Blais, Bridgewater; grandchildren Jenna (Leo) Kilfoil, Dayspring; Tristan Follows, BC; Benjamin (Kaila) Wallace, Halifax; great grandchild Callum Kilfoil, Dayspring; along with many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by husband Bertrand Clarence Wallace and son David James Wallace. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Funeral Service will be held 2 p.m. January 8 2016, in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater, Rev. Willis Ott officiating. Flowers accepted. Donations in Marjorie’s memory may be made to Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Branch 24 Bridgewater, Nova Scotia. Online condolences may be made by visiting: www.sweenysfuneralhome.com.
