Karen Florence Waye
48, of Conquerall Mills, Lunenburg County, passed away March 29, 2002 in the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater, after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Creignish, Inverness County, she was the daughter of Lucy McNamara of Port Hood, and the late Joseph McNamara. She was employed with the Town of Bridgewater for ten years. She is survived by her loving husband, Leslie Angus, loving son, Mark Andrew Waye, at home; sisters, Mary R. (Larry) MacIsaac, St. Ninian; Elizabeth (Gerard) MacDonald, Little Judique Ponds; Lucille (Allan) MacIsaac, Little Judique; brothers, Daniel (Lois), Dartmouth; Eugene, Windsor, Ont.; Michael (Bernice), Mabou; Warren (Ruth), Glencoe; 13 nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by a brother, Frederick Allan McNamara. Visitation will be held Saturday, March 30th from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. with prayers being offered at 4 p.m. in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater. After visitation, funeral arrangements will be transferred to Port Hood Community Funeral Home where visitation will be held Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. Funeral service will be held 11am Monday in St Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, Father R.D. Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Family flowers only. In lieu of flowers, memorials donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of your choice through either funeral home or online at www.sweenysfuneralhome.com.
