Obituary of William LeRoy Hearn

William "Bill" LeRoy Hearn Having defeated death so many times before during his truly courageous battle, we lost our lovingly cherished and beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend to many at Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg. LeRoy passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 8, 2017, at the age of 70, his faithful wife and loving children by his side. Born July 12, 1946 in Annapolis Royal, he was a son of the late Gardner and Phyllis (Robar) Hearn. As a young man, LeRoy was an actor with the Neptune Theater Company, Halifax, later moving to Toronto and then finally back to Nova Scotia, where he became employed with Michelin Tires, Bridgewater plant - where he continued working for over 35 years as a faithful and dedicated employee, becoming well known to many as Bill. After entering retirement, LeRoy worked as a part time employee with South Shore Crematorium Ltd., Bridgewater. LeRoy was a member of Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Bridgewater where he had also served on the church council; he also bowled faithfully on Tuesday nights in Bridgewater with his friends. Quick witted, thoughtful and charming, LeRoy was best known to be generous, and to be genuine. Surviving is his beloved wife, Melita Pearl (Eisnor) Hearn; and he was, simply, the greatest dad ever to Theresa (Danny) Himmelman, Bayport; Deanna (Stefan) Sieber, Timberlea; Christopher (Lex), Montreal and grandfather to Hailey, Faith and Olivia. He is also survived by a brother in law, Byron Eisnor; niece, Michelle and nephew, Reid. He was predeceased by his parents, Gardner and Phyllis Hearn and step father, Sammy MacDonald; sister in law, Donna Eisnor. Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m., Wednesday, January 11 in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater. Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Thursday, January 12 in Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Bridgewater with Rev. Simon Davies officiating. Interment will take place in the Brookside Cemetery Columbarium, Bridgewater. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Canadian Cancer Society or the ALC Unit of Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital. We will be forever grateful for the tremendous and professional care the health care team provided to our husband and father over the last few years.
