James Albert Seaboyer
Age 88, LaHave, Lunenburg Co., passed away on Monday, January 16, 2017 in the QEII Health Center - Infirmary Site, Halifax. Born in LaHave, he was the son of the late James William and Amy Sophia (Bushen) Seaboyer. James, known as Jim by his family and friends, loved to hunt, fish and garden, and was proud to share the abundance from these activities. He was a hard-working man and a wonderful provider for his family. Jim was a true entrepreneur; enjoying success in numerous and diverse business endeavors including trucking, fishing, mink ranching, operating a service station and school bus line, in partnership with his brother, Gerald, operating a bulk fuel transport company J.A. Seaboyer Transport Ltd. and ultimately returning to his true passion, lobster fishing, which he continued into his early eighties. Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Marlene Faye (Corkum) Seaboyer; daughters, Jacquelyn (Jeff) Amos, Farmville; Paulette (Gene) Jensen, Halifax; Coleen (Gerry) Fong, St. John’s, NL; sons, James (Shawn) Seaboyer, LaHave; Larry (Sandy) Seaboyer, Laconia; 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; three nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Gerald. There will be no visitation at the funeral home by request; cremation has taken place. Service of Remembrance will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, January 28, 2017 in West Side United Church, Pentz with Rev. Neil McEwen officiating.
