Gary Otto Tucker
Age 68 of Bakers Settlement, passed away peacefully in Shoreham Village Nursing Home, Chester, on January 15, 2017 with family by his side. Born in Windsor on April 8, 1948, he was a son of the late Gesnor and Lena Tucker. Gary moved to the South Shore, married and had three children, Robin, Rhonda and David, all who now live out west. He then married the love of his life, Maxine (Wile) Jodrey and had an instant family of three daughters. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Maxine; daughters, Donna (Perry), Margaret (John) and Glenda; grandchildren, Jason, Jennifer, Courtney, Ryan, Michelle, Shailie, Devon; great- grandchildren, Dylan, Brayden, Tyra, Tia, Paige, Raven, Zachary, Mataya; brothers, Clinton and Ivan; sisters, Eileen and Evelyn. He was predeceased by brothers, Gerald, Darrell, Lawrence and Junior in infancy; sister, Carolyn. Gary was a self-employed painter, roofer and odd job worker. He was a hardworking man and a wonderful provider for his family. He was very well known for his detailed house painting, including the painting of multiple churches in the Lunenburg County area, as well as the MacDonald Bridge in Halifax many years ago. He took great pride in all of his work and loved meeting new people. He enjoyed working with Maxine by his side and loved his family dearly. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater where visitation will be held from 2-4pm and 7-9 pm, Thursday January 19th. Funeral Service will take place 2pm, Friday, January 20th in Sweeny's Funeral Chapel, Bridgewater. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Children’s Wish Foundation.
