Obituary of Mabel Selena Tumblin

Mabel Selena Tumblin Age 103, Crescent Beach, Lunenburg Co., passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2017 in Hillside Pines Nursing Home, Bridgewater, where she had been residing. Born, April 30, 1914 on the LaHave Islands, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Benjamin and Fannie May (Bush) Bush. Mabel worked for 25 years as a teller at the local post office. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Surviving are nieces and nephews, Rosalita Tumblin, Randall (Debra) Tumblin, Megan Tumblin (Jonah Williams), Jacob Williams, Brandon Tumblin, Krista (late Darrell) Welsh, Murray (Pauline) Bushen. She was predeceased by her husband, Calvin Lorenzo Tumblin; son, Rodney Hubert; sister, Ivy Tumblin; brother, Alvin Bush; nephew, Moyle Tumblin. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m., preceding the 2:30 p.m., funeral service which will be held on Tuesday, February 21, in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater. Rev. Vivian Moores officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Peaceful Hill Cemetery, West Dublin. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Wesley United Church or charity of choice.
