Obituary of Leonard Zwicker

Leonard Harold Zwicker 59, of Wileville, Lunenburg County, passed away Tuesday May 21, 2002 at home with his family by his side after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Wileville, he was a son of Esther (Wile) (Zwicker) Wentzell of Baker Settlement and the late Harold Zwicker. Len began the plumbing trade at the age of 16 Years. He worked for approximately 10 years with the former Powers Bros. of Lunenburg. In 1973, he began his own business, known as Len’s Plumbing and Heating Ltd., working from his home site in Wileville. In 1986, he opened the Mr. Plumber Store at the same location. He worked both businesses until he could no longer work due to illness in the summer of 2001 at which time, his son in law, Donnie, took over operations. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Diane (Barry); daughters, Holly (Patrick) Sweeny; Stephanie (Donnie) Woodsworth, both of which were his pride and joy; his precious grandchildren, Amanda and Jeremy Sweeny, all from Pinegrove; sisters, Lucy (Bruce) Bailey, Dayspring; Anne Llewellyn, Camperdown; brothers, Richard (Beverly), Upper LaHave; Frank (Ann), Baker Settlement; step father, Cyril Wentzell, Baker Settlement; several aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins; sister in law, Ada Barry, Bramalea, Ont. Visitation will be held Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater. Funeral service will be held 1:30pm Friday in the Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Bridgewater, Archdeacon John Clarke officiating, assisted by Rev. Ivan Norton. A private family burial will follow in the Brookside cemetery, Bridgewater. A reception will follow at the family home in Wileville. Immediate family flowers only. In lieu of flowers, memorials donations may be made to Lunenburg County Palliative Care or Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Bridgewater through the funeral home or online at www.sweenysfuneralhome.com.
