Obituary of Dorothy Clattenburg

Dorothy Marie Clattenburg 84, of Bridgewater, passed away suddenly in Bridgewater, October 14, 2003 following a lengthy struggle with depression. Born in Pinehurst, Lunenburg County, she was a daughter of the late James and Maude (Lowe) MacKay. She lived in Pinehurst until the early 60’s; graduated from the Bridgewater Commercial School and Nursing Assistants Program at Camphill Hospital, Halifax, where she worked until her retirement in 1980 For the past 23 years she lived in Bridgewater where she was an active member of the Bridgewater United Church and the UCW; member and Past Nobel Grand of Atlantic Rebekah Lodge 52, Bridgewater. Her family and friends were her greatest joy. She is survived by sons, Robert (Bonnie), Nictaux; Rowan (Edith), Halifax; Richard (Anne), Kentville; a sister, Maxine Comeau, Bridgewater; grandchildren, Dawn, Jay, Jeffrey and Robbie. She was predeceased by her husband, Stillman; son, Beverley; sisters, Lena, Blanche in infancy; brothers, Rex, Stewart, Joseph; grandson, Roy. A memorial service will be held 2pm Sunday in the Bridgewater United Church, Rev Ivan Norton officiating. Private family burial will be in the Pinehurst Community Cemetery, Pinehurst. Family flowers only. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to New West Pine United Church, Pinehurst. There will be no visitation at the funeral home by request.
