Jessen Earle Cooke
81, Branch LaHave, Lunenburg Co., passed away Saturday, November 22, 2003 in the Q.E. II Health Sciences Centre, VG Site, Halifax. Born in Lower Branch, he was a son of the late Ellard and Eva (Murray) Cooke. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, branch 102, New Germany; and was one of the founding members of the Mic Mac Rod and Gun Club, Pinehurst. Surviving are his wife, the former Mary (Currie) (Stockman); children, Wayne, Saskatoon; twins, Jean (Michael) Thompson, Watford and Joan (Wilson) Williams, Maitland; Steven, Antigonish; Sherri Hubley (Arthur Maddox), Enfield; Angela Sutherland (Michael Holland), Upper Vaughn; Krista (Derrick) Griffiths, Victoria, BC; step children, Carolyn (Garry) Lohnes, Lower Branch; Carmel Hebb (Wayne Selig), Wileville. 17 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 2 step great grandchildren. Brother, Harold (Helen) Cooke, Bridgewater. He was predeceased by grandson, Shannon; 5 brothers and a sister. Visitation will be held Monday from 7 – 9 p.m. in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater, with a public legion tribute service at 6:30 p.m. and from where a memorial service will be held 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Rev. Willis Ott officiating. Family flowers only, donations may be made to Shaid Animal Shelter, Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of your choice.
