Obituary of Elisee Gaudet

Elisee Jean (John) Gaudet 65 of LaHave, Lunenburg County, passed away suddenly November 3rd, 2001 at South Shore Regional Hospital. He was born in Meteghan, Digby County, the son of the late Elisee and Irene (Gaudet) Gaudet. He retired from the Royal Bank of Canada as manager of the LaHave branch after 35 years of service. He was a devoted Family man, very dedicated to his community and actively involved in his home parish of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Bridgewater. He was chair of the local branch of The Canadian Red Cross. Past President of the Lunenburg County Historical Society and a past member of the LaHave Fire Dept. In the Knights of Columbus, he was a past Grand Knight of Council 6417 Bridgewater, former District Deputy and a fourth degree member of the Halifax Assembly. He was instrumental in the formation of the Knights of Columbus Sigogne Council 6348 in Comeauville, Digby County. He is survived by his wife Maria (denHaan), daughter Josette (Mrs. Donald Comeau) Grossess Cocques NS, sons Mark (Sheila) of Belleville Ont., Andre (Marianne) of Hebbs Cross NS, Paul (Lesley) of Chelsea NS, and Jean-Louis (Rachel) of Windsor NS. Grandchildren Linette, Daniel, Denis, Kristine, Amanda, Kyle, Curtis, Justin, Nicholas, and Jessica. Sisters Therese (Mrs Bernardin Comeau) of Saulnierville NS, Marie (Mrs John Csoknya) of Saulnierville NS, brother Alfred (Josette) of Iroquois Falls Ont., many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by brothers Augustin, Harry, also Bernard and sister Annette in infancy. Visitation for family only on Monday 2-4 pm, open visitation and prayers Monday 7 to 9 pm at Sweeny's Funeral Home, Bridgewater. Memorial Mass at St Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Bridgewater 1:30 pm Tuesday, Father Michael Walsh officiating. Interment at a later date.
