Obituary of Violet Meisner

Violet Marjorie Mercer 85, of Harbour View Haven Nursing Home, Lunenburg, formerly of Upper LaHave, passed away September 24, 2003 at Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg. Born in New Ross, she was a daughter of the late Ingerson and Mabel (Harvey) Gates. She was a member of the Woodbind Rebekah Lodge, Upper LaHave and the ladies auxiliary of the Dayspring and District Fire Department. Surviving are her children, Rhodes (Karen), Lunenburg; Barry (Donna), Blue Rocks; Robert (Gretchen), Lunenburg; Patricia (David) Schnare, Chester; Thomas (Karen), Middle LaHave. 9 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren. Sister, Burdett (Merritt) Veinot, New Ross; brothers, Georgian (Goldie) Gates, New Ross; Oakley (Phyllis) Gates, Toronto. She was predeceased by her husband, Samuel and a son, John Edward. Sister, Bernice Keddy; brothers, Sylvnus, Mervil, Charles, Paul, Kendall. No visitation at the funeral home by request. Memorial service 11 a.m., Saturday in Bridgewater United Baptist Church, Bridgewater. Rev. Dr. Tom Harvey officiating. Burial will follow in Sunny Valley Cemetery, Centre.
