Obituary of Verna Munn

Verna Doris Munn 87, Cookville, Lunenburg County, passed away in South Shore Regional Hospital, October 17, 2003. Born October 25, 1915 in Lower Kingsburg, she was the daughter of the late William Howard Mossman and Katherine Ann Louise (Kaiser). Verna worked in her early years as a seamstress in a factory in La Have and continued to be an avid sewer for many years. Verna and her late husband liked to travel and visit with many friends and relatives. She loved to play cards and win! She was a member of the Bridgewater Baptist Church and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #24 Ladies Auxiliary, Bridgewater. She is survived by her sister, Ellen Bent of Yarmouth; step daughter, Linda Marie Ramey of Martin’s Point; step sons, Robert W Munn and Arthur A Munn, both of Edmonton, Alberta; six step grandchildren including Lisa Corkum, who cared for Verna in her final months until she had to be admitted to hospital. She was predeceased by her husband, Albert Munn; brothers, Leon S., Robie W., Vincent E., Frank V.; sisters, Nellie, Flora I., Annie M., Carrie O.; and step daughter, Carol Ann Corkum. In keeping with Verna’s wishes, a public grave side service to be held 11am Thursday in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Pine Grove. There will be no visitation at the funeral home by request. Family flowers only. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #24 Bridgewater, Canadian Cancer Society, S.H.A.I.D., or a charity of your choice.
