Obituary of Horace Norman

Horace Edgar Allan Norman Of Bridgewater, passed away May 7, 2003 in Camp Hill Veterans Memorial Building, Halifax, following a lengthy illness. He was the son of the late William Allan and Lilian Evelyn (Gould) Norman, born in Hampton, N.B. on November 4, 1917. He was a veteran of Second World War, serving overseas as Staff Sergeant with the 3rd Anti-tank Regiment in England, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. He was employed with Maritime Telegraph and Telephone Co. Ltd., for 33 years retiring in 1981. He was a member of Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Bridgewater, life member of Telephone Pioneers, 3rd Anti-tank Regiment Association and Lunenburg County Veterans Association. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Mary (Spinney), son Brian, Thailand. Grandchildren, Bruce, Angela, Cherie (Jollimore) and Brina; great granddaughter, Erin, all of Halifax, brother Maurice, Long Point, N.B. He was predeceased by his first wife Audrey Gibson and son Roderick, sisters Beatrice and Ileana. Visitation 7 – 9 p.m., Sunday in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater. Funeral 11 a.m., Monday in Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Bridgewater. Archdeacon John Clarke officiating. Burial will follow at 3 p.m., in St. John’s Cemetery, Halifax. Family flowers only, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, Alzheimer's Society of Nova Scotia, V.O.N., Lunenburg Co., branch or charity of choice.
