Obituary of Reginald Snyder

Reginald William "Teddy" Snyder 91, well known boat builder, Dayspring, Lunenburg County, passed away August 9, 2003 in the Roseway Hospital, Shelburne. Born in Dayspring, he was a son of the late Phinnie and Emma (Naugler) Snyder. He was the proud founder of Snyder’s Shipyard in Dayspring and served as president until his retirement. He was an honorary member as well as a founding member of the Dayspring and District Fire Department; member of the Acacia Lodge #39; Grand Chapter of the Royal Arch Masons of N.S.; Woodbine Rebecca Lodge; St. Matthew’s Anglican Church, Upper LaHave. He is survived by his wife, Pauline (Bruhm); son, Philip (Trudy), Dayspring; daughter, Susan (Dale) Clattenburg, Lower Sackville; 3 grandchildren, Mark, Steven and Julie; brother, Harold, Bridgewater; sisters, Delia Fraser, Kingston; Thelma Reid, Halifax; Kaye Mailman, Ontario; Doris Hayward, Upper LaHave; Jean Corkum, Dayspring; Karen Wilkie, Bridgewater. He was predeceased by brothers, George, Arnold; sister, Mary Schmeisser. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 7 to 9pm with a lodge service being held at 6:30pm, all in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater. Funeral service will be held 11am Wednesday in St Matthew’s Anglican Church, Upper LaHave, Rev. David Delapinna officiating. Burial will follow in the Dayspring Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Dayspring and District Fire Department. Family flowers only. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St Matthew’s Anglican Church, Upper LaHave, Dayspring and District Fire Department or the charity of your choice.
