Obituary of Ruby Wilson
Ruby Marguerite Wilson
Of Hebbville, Lunenburg County, passed away suddenly, at the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater, August 8, 2003, one week before her 81st birthday. Born in Hebbville, she was the only child of the late Warren and Dorothy (Haines) Hirtle. The joy of her entire life was spending summers with her family at the cottage in Green Bay. She was a member and elder of the Bridgewater United Church, former Sunday School superintendent and teacher. She was well known as a Brownie, Girl Guide and 4-H Leader; was a co-founder of both the Wee Wisdom Nursery School and The Bridgewater Inter-Church Food Bank. She leaves to mourn, her husband of 62 Years, George; daughters, Marianne (Greg) Goodwin, Hebbville; Bette (Ronald) Veinot, New Canada; Judy (John) Harvey, Dartmouth. She was a loving grandmother to Connie Jefferson (Paul Mailman), Bridgewater; David (Mary) Jefferson, London, Ont.; Mary Jefferson, Branch LaHave; Peter (Jeanette) Jefferson, Hebbville; Todd (Rhonda) Jefferson, Lower Branch; Cindy (Bobby) Hubley, New Canada; George (Cheryn) Goodwin, Bridgewater; Paul Veinot, New Canada; John (Charlene) Harvey, Jeff Harvey, Dartmouth; Jamie Harvey, Kelonna, B.C.; 21 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Visitation will be Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater. A celebration of Ruby’s life will be held Tuesday, August 12 at 11am in the Bridgewater United Church, Rev Ivan Norton and Rev Alexander MacLean officiating. Private family burial will be in the Hebbville Cemetery. A reception will follow in the C E Center. No flowers by request.
