Obituary of Maud Zwicker

Maud Riley Zwicker 71, Dayspring, Lunenburg County, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2003 following a lengthy illness at South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Recontre East, Newfoundland. She was the daughter of the late Albert and Julia (Mullins) James. Arriving in Nova Scotia as a young girl, she worked as a nanny and at a variety of jobs in Halifax, before moving to Bridgewater, marrying and raising her family. She enjoyed rug making, quilting, yard sales, flea markets and her soap operas. Though in ill health for a number of years and confined to her home she enjoyed visits from her children, 11 grandchildren and great grandson Colby whom she adored. She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband of 52 years Paul Zwicker, daughter Paulette (Pat) Gear, Lisa (Gary) Rees, Tracy Carver. Son Edwin (Janine) Zwicker. Brother Raymond James of Ontario. Sister, Ada Hardy, Nfld. Several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Tony Zwicker, brothers, Leslie, Albert, James, Harold in infancy. Sister Amelia James, Theresa Caines. Visitation 7 – 9 p.m. Wednesday in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater and from where memorial service will be 2 p.m. Thursday. Rev. William Gustafson officiating. Burial in Dayspring Cemetery.
