Obituary of Alice Harry

Alice May Harry (Todd) A celebration of Alice’s life will be held 11am Saturday July 24, 2004 at the Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Bridgewater, Father Robert Coote officiating. A reception will follow in the Parish Hall. No flowers by request. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Holy Trinity Anglican Church or the charity of your choice through Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater 91 of Bridgewater, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 7, 2004 at the ALC unit of the Fisherman’s Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg with family and clergy at her side. Born on Feb 6, 1912 in Carleton Corner (Bridgetown), NS. She was the daughter of the late Malcolm & Letty (Wade) Todd. As a young mother she moved to Bridgewater in 1942. She was a member of Holy Trinity Anglican Church and over the years participated in many of their activities-( Little Helpers, Altar Guild & the ACW.) She was a former member of the Women’s Institute of Canada and the Atlantic Rebecca Lodge. She was an accomplished seamstress and avid gardener. She was a wonderful cook, whose recipes will be a legacy to her family. She enjoyed playing cards, especially with her grandchildren. The game of cribbage was a Todd family tradition and she enjoyed a game just within the last few months with sisters and brothers. She is survived by son Edward, Toronto, daughter Judith (Valentin) Zamanillo of Bridgewater and St Petersburg, Florida; grandsons -Marc (Lisa) Zamanillo; Ted, Christopher and John Harry; Step Grand daughter, Carolyn Groves; Sisters - Eleanor Seeley, Hunt’s Point; Mora Naismith, Ardoise ; Brothers- Fred, Dartmouth; Ernest (Susan) , Calgary; and Harry (Cathy), Unionville, Ont. She was predeceased by husband, Edward (Ted); Sisters, Anne Waters, Abbington, Mass; Bessie Howe, Calgary; Brothers - Milton, Spryfield; Jack, Wolfville. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater. A celebration of Alice’s life will be held at a future date. No flowers by request.
