Obituary of Vera MacKay

Vera Blanche MacKay 90, Upper Northfield, Lunenburg Co., passed away Wednesday, March 24, 2004 in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Union Square, she was a daughter of the late Amos and Lavenia (Oickle) Ernst. She was a member of St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Union Square, where she served with the ladies guild. She was an avid card and bingo player. Surviving are her daughter, Heather MacKay, Upper Northfield; sisters, Grace MacKay, New Germany; Genevieve Veinot, Upper Northfield; Maude Ernst, Union Square and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband George MacKay; sisters, Alice Veinotte, Mary Olsen, Minnie Vautour; brothers, Leroy in infancy, Freeman, Charles, Howard, Joseph, Ray, Obediah. Visitation for family and friends will be 7-9 p.m. Friday in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 4895 route 10, New Germany. Funeral 11 a.m., Saturday in St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Union Square, Rev. Tom Henderson officiating. Burial will follow in Union Square Cemetery. Family flowers only, donations may be made to St. Paul’s Anglican Church or charity of choice.
