Obituary of Joseph Slauenwhite

Joseph Harold Slauenwhite 88, Stanburne, Lunenburg Co., passed away at home on Friday, November 26, 2004. Born on May 13, 1916 he was a son of the late Clarence and Cora (Veinot) Slauenwhite. Joe spent his life in Stanburne. He was born, baptized, and with his wife Muriel, raised his own family and has now passed away on the family farm, that he once purchased from his father in 1946. During his working years, he was a self employed carpenter and farmer and was a member of St. John in the Wilderness Anglican Church, New Germany. Surviving are his wife the former G. Muriel Lantz; sons, Phillip and Wayne at home; Royce (Janet), New Germany. Brothers, Pearlie (Ella), Burpee (Mae) all of Stanburne. Grandchildren, Jeanine Chaisson, Ottawa; Jonathan Chaisson, Halifax; Joey Chaisson, Dartmouth; Alisha, Amanda, Anthony and Alex Slauenwhite, all of New Germany. Sisters-in-law, Ruth Lohnes, Dartmouth; Grace Lantz, Liverpool. Son-in-law, Edgar Chaisson, Margaree Forks; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by daughter, Gloria Chaisson; sisters, Beatrice Taylor, Evelyn Slauenwhite; brothers-in-law, Richard Taylor, Bradford Lohnes, Kenneth Lantz. Visitation for family and friends will be 7 – 9 p.m. Monday in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 4895 route 10, New Germany. Funeral 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. John in the Wilderness Anglican Church, New Germany. Family burial of ashes will follow in the church cemetery. Family flowers only, donations may be made to New Germany Volunteer Fire Department or charity of choice.
