Obituary of Walter Snyder

Walter V. Snyder 98, W. Yarmouth, Ma., USA, passed away at Hyannis Skilled Care Center in Hyannis on Wednesday, October 27, 2004 after a period of failing health. He was the husband of the late Marie B. (Conrad) Snyder. Born and educated in Nova Scotia, Mr. Snyder lived in Canton for many years before moving to W. Yarmouth two years ago. He was a commercial fisherman at the Boston Fish Pier and in New Bedford for many years before retiring at age 65. He was a member of the New Bedford Fisherman’s Union. He is survived by his daughter, Arleen M. Rickard of W. Yarmouth, his granddaughter, Michelle A. Yankauckas and his brother, Bernard Snyder of Nova Scotia. A memorial service will be held 2pm Monday November 22, 2004 in St Alban’s Anglican Church, Voglers Cove, Rev David Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Cherry Hill.
